About Hermes Travel

Joanna Papaspyropoulos-Damianeas was born in Greece and emigrated to New York in the early 1970s. She opened the doors of Hermes Travel in 1980 and has been in the same location in Astoria ever since.

With love and passion for what she does, she has created unbreakable bonds of trust with her customers, some of whom have been loyal since the first year of operation. A kind, patient and consummate travel agent with a vast knowledge of global destinations and international ticketing, she continues to give her best to this business and to her clients.

Anastasia Damianeas (or Nancy, as she prefers to be called) is a New Yorker who has traveled to 18 countries and has lived in both Greece and Dubai. With 25 years of travel agent experience, her passion is helping families and couples realize their travel dreams.

Hermes Travel Corporation was established by her mother in 1980 and was one of the first travel agencies in Queens, NY to utilize a GDS for ticketing. Nearly 40 years later, the agency has evolved and survived — living proof of a thriving and successful IATA and ARC accredited travel agency.

She is a Certified Sandals & Beaches Specialist, a Hawaii Destination Expert, and a Tahiti Certified Specialist. She is also a Certified Family Travel Advisor and was on the Keynote Panel at the 2016 Family Travel Association Summit in Tucson, AZ.
